A Book of Wisdom


When the weather is nice, one of my many favorite things to do is going to the beach. I take pleasure in inspirational reading, especially on a bench, in the sun, wearing a big hat, enjoying a salty, fresh air from the ocean, and having a thermos of hot goji berry green tea. Sometimes I reread the books that I like the most. One of them is “You Can Heal Your Life” written by Louise Hay. She has inspired people through the power of positive thinking to create a better life and improve health and happiness. She writes about self-worth, forgiveness, visualization, affirmations, loving yourself, letting the past go and how to be a “Yes” person. It was a stepping stone for me in learning how to replace negative thoughts with positive affirmation and more.

There in an interesting chapter at the end of the book. It says that sometimes the correlation between a medical condition or problem we have and the solution to it, may just be to form a new pattern of thought. For example, fatigue is a common concern among us nowadays, the cause of it may be resistance, boredom, or lack of love for what one does. A new thought pattern to affirm is “I am enthusiastic about life and filled with energy and enthusiasm”. Even though you don’t believe it yet, keep affirming anyway (every day mantra). By and by you will have a new, fresh belief. I think it is a great affirmation that has helped me and I would never have learned it were it not for my love of reading. What you learn does impact your future.
