Exploring Madrid without any luggage

After landing in Madrid I found out that my luggage was still traveling somewhere. At first it was a huge disappointment and then I had decided to accept the inconvenience and I felt a relief. Looking on the bright side, I could have taken a pleasure to shop for new clothes and find something fresh. I was supposed to stay in Madrid for three days anyway and then to head to Barcelona after that.

I had a beautiful time in the Old part of Madrid. I visited Prado museum, enjoyed the amazing ancient and modern paintings. I was wandering the streets of the gorgeous city, having coffee at the outdoor cafes, tasting the variety of Spanish cuisine, drinking house wines. I particularly favored the Mediterranean cuisine that is associated with the delicious & famous Mediterranean diet which is so beneficial for health. It is based on olive oil, the wine, other important ingredients like whole grains, garlic, greens and vegetables, cheese, fish, meat, eggs, and fruit. I savored every moment being there in spite of anything.

This trip taught me something valuable; how wonderful it was to travel without a burden. At a time like this I could do some soul-searching. Also, it had reminded me about the beauty of simplicity. I didn’t need too many belongings to carry with me when I traveled. All I needed was to be in the state of being able to proceed without any discomfort or difficulty and enjoy myself, just being at ease.

During each traveling journey I learned something new and valuable. I felt as if I had a few new tools that can help me to make my life simpler and better. After this particular trip, I had a clear idea about simplifying my surroundings and appreciating what I have. I knew exactly what I had to do when I got home.

Traveling adventure lesson had been learned. Simplicity is key. I received my luggage at the last minute. Since then, I packed light.
