Healthy Longevity

 

We all want to create a menu for staying healthy and beautiful. It takes just our willingness to do what is necessary to achieve this goal. I look at health holistically and have a strong belief that a secret of healthy longevity is the combination of three very important aspects of our lives.

First, importance of positive thoughts over yourself, people around you, your health, your finances and your future on a regular basis.

Second, importance of physical activity. It improves heart health, tones the body, increases flexibility and relies tension.

Third, importance of eating well. We have been so fortunate nowadays. We have big and abundant supermarkets where the food is ripe for the picking. Take advantage of it, experiment and have fun with a variety of food choices. Start creating a healthy habit of eating. A well-balanced diet between proteins, carbohydrates, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals can help you stay lean and healthy for the rest of your life. It is wise to start the day with filling food. We need good energy to enjoy the things we do. Choose foods for breakfast like brown rice, millet, buckwheat and quinoa. Whole grains provide sustained  and high quality energy and are rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals. Try to eat at least one serving of brown rice every day and your digestive system will thank you later.

Your lunch has to be the largest meal of the day. Have something substantial, begin with a soup or salad then grilled salmon with grilled vegetables. Salmon is high in healthy fats which are crucial to a healthy immune system. Enjoy the benefits from eating the tasty fish. Eat a bulk of food early in the day and go lighter on your dinner. Choose foods for dinner like green salads with bread, a glass of yogurt, mashed avocado with herbs and spices for flavor, a serving of salmon with vegetables, or quinoa.

If you need to snack between meals go for fresh fruits, dried fruits, freshly squeezed carrot and apple juice, citrus juice, green juice and of course drink plenty of water throughout the day. Drinking enough water plays a vital role in good health.
